My son loves the snow and we usually get at least a few days where he can run and play in the snow. This year, however, we have only gotten a day or two of flurries.
My son has been really sad about no snow this winter, so I got him some books about snowmen. His favorite of the bunch was Sneezy the Snowman by Maureen Wright, illustrated by Stephen Gilpin.
This book is cute, wonderfully creative and the perfect book for a cold January day with or without snow! The rhyming words make the book easy to read and will have your child reciting phrases in no time.
This book became an instant favorite in my house and after you read it to your kids it is sure to be a favorite in your home as well.
Sneezy the Snowman has a cold and so he can not stop shivering. The kids do their best to keep him warm, but not too warm.
This book offers plenty of opportunities to really make the book come alive with the sneezing and shivering and well I can’t say anymore as I don’t want to tell you too much.
The pictures are beautiful and really bring the words to life. My son liked all the little details that he thought were funny. On each page, we had to pause to allow plenty of time to view the creativity in the pictures.
If you are looking for a new book for this winter give Sneezy the Snowman a try. If you have little ones in your house this book is sure to be a favorite for years to come!
And you never know this book will probably make it into some summer reading on a really hot day when we could use a little cooling off!
If you have a book that your kids love let us know. Or if you would like to guest post on a book or other topic we would love to hear from you.
